1. What is the Performance View?

The Performance View is a core element of the Data Studio, offering powerful insights and the ability to model various reports. It is modeled after an AdManager and provides insights into channels, campaigns, ad sets, and ads.

2. What can I see in the Performance View?

Some elements, like Period, Attribution, and Filters, are the same as in the Dashboard View. You can find detailed information about these in the linked articles.

There are also additional elements that provide more detailed insights, which are explained below.

Choose the time frame that should be compared

If you want to compare your report to another period, you can set a comparison time frame using the "Trend" button. This allows you to select a time frame against which your chosen data period will be compared. For instance, if you have selected “quarter” as your period, you can now choose to compare the data with a previous quarter.

When hovering over the numbers, you can see the respective performance in this time frame and the compared one. If you want to see the comparison numbers in the table and not only by hovering, you can click the “show actual comparison numbers” button in the table headers.

The Trend Function is optional and not mandatory. You can choose to use it for additional insights, but it’s entirely up to you whether or not to include it in your analysis.

Channels, Campaigns, Ad sets and Ads

In the Channel Sheet, all of your channels are displayed, including both paid and unpaid (like email). You'll also see your campaigns, ad sets, and ads.

Select channels

On the left, you can select specific channels for more detailed information. The channels you select will now be shown in the other sheets, such as Campaigns, Ad Sets, and Ads.

Pin a column

By clicking on the pin icon, you can pin a column so that it remains visible when you scroll to the right of the table.

Turn toggle sorting on and off

The toggle sorting function allows you to sort columns by clicking the two triangles in each column. You can switch between ascending (lowest to highest) and descending (highest to lowest) order.

Breakdown

The breakdown button allows you to analyze data further. You can also select customer tag as a breakdown option. More information on customer tags can be found here.

Quantify

The Quantify feature uses Bayesian statistics and confidence intervals to provide credible conclusions automatically. When you click on Quantify in the top-right corner, your configurations will be applied, and the data will open in the Saved Experiments section in the left sidebar.

Share view

You can also share your Performance View by clicking the share icon in the top-right corner. Find more information on sharing views here.

Settings

Clicking on the three dots gives you options to export your data, load a preset, or save a new preset. More information about presets can be found here.

When exporting data, you can select between various data formats. By clicking on “Export via scheduled email,” you can also schedule regular exports of your reports. You can manage the recipients and set the frequency for these reports. Under “Manage Exports,” you can view and edit the scheduled email reports you've created.
