To correctly attribute orders to campaigns and ads, it's mandatory to add the correct tracking parameters to the landing pages. At a minimum, Admetrics Data Studio requires the correct utm_source
parameter to be set. You can always use utm_medium
and utm_campaign
to track additional parameters and analyze them on the platform.

Google Ads
While auto-tagging in Google Ads remains a widely favored tracking method, the advent of iOS 17's privacy changes necessitates the incorporation of UTM parameters to ensure accuracy in all scenarios.

Tracking Template Alternatively to setting up the UTM parameters, Google allows setting up tracking templates on campaign level, that automatically apply the tracking parameters to all landing page URLs.

Unfortunately, LinkedIn does not support dynamic landing page parameters/macros, which is why you need to manually replace [ad_id] for each Ad with the respective ID of the Ad.

Instructions for updating multiple ads at once
- Go to the Facebook Ads Manager
- Click on the Ads tab
- Select all of your ads (If you have a lot of ads, filter the view with “Ad delivery” = “Active”)
- Click edit
- Scroll down to the UTM parameter section
- Add the UTM parameters and click publish
